PBIS Overview
PBIS – Positive Behavior Intervention and Support
All schools in Unit 5 have implemented a positive behavior support system known as PBIS. PBIS is a “positive behavior support” that is a proactive, comprehensive, systematic and individualized continuum of support designed to provide opportunities to all students for achieving social and learning success, while preventing problem behaviors. Staff often reviews the behaviors that are expected in certain areas such as hallways or lining up to go home for example.
Our PBIS team meets every month to discuss the positive behavior systems we have in place at Grove School and the data that gives us feedback to evaluate how we are doing. We are fortunate that our team includes a Grove parent.
We have learned over that past several months from reviewing the data collected that the behavior of our Grove Gators is very good! We continue to target the areas that can be difficult in order to provide interventions. We are striving to be our best!
